Real Madrid tightlipped on Hierro, Salgado deals

Real Madrid sports chief Jorge Valdano refuses to discuss the futures of defenders Fernando Hierro and Michel Salgado.

It was reported last week that Hierro had agreed a new, two-year deal with Real.

But Valdano told Marca, "On Real Madrid's part, the contracts are not going to be discussed."

"Six months ago we decided that until the end of April, we are not going to make any decisions regarding this. Until that date arrives, its most healthful that I keep quiet."

Real trainer Vicente del Bosque's future is also still to be settled, but Valdano admitted: "I trust our trainer."
