Real Madrid tell Chelsea, Man Utd: Owen stays

Real Madrid have made an official statement over the future of Michael Owen - telling Manchester United and Chelsea to forget about the England striker.

Real Madrid issued a "hands off" warning after the Spanish Press claimed Chelsea had made a £14million bid for the England striker.

Madrid's director of football Arrigo Sacchi said: "Owen is not for sale because he is part of Vanderlei Luxemburgo's plans.

"Chelsea have not been in contact with us to make an offer."

"Some of the things written about who is coming and going here are like science fiction."

"Owen has not told us he is unhappy or that he wants to leave. He is a professional."
