Real Madrid tell Baptista to listen to AC Milan offer

Real Madrid attacker Julio Baptista is ready to hold talks with AC Milan.

Baptista had hoped to prove himself to new Real coach Bernd Schuster, but was informed over the weekend that he should seek a new club.

AS says Real sports director Pedja Mijatovic told Baptista: "Julio, your position is covered and it's best that you consider other offers."

The prospect of moving to Milan is favoured by Baptista, though the European champs will have to up their £10 million bid to land the powerful attacker. Real want £15 million for Baptista, particularly with him about to be handed a Spanish passport.
