Real Madrid teammates defend below-par Robinho

Iker Casillas defended Real Madrid teammate Robinho after a disappointing performance in last night's Supa Copa defeat at Valencia.

The subject of interest from Chelsea, Robinho struggled to get involved in the first-leg clash and was roundly criticised by the Madrid press for his display.

But goalkeeper Casillas said: "It is normal for Robinho to be very worried. The players are people, not machines."

Ruud van Nistelrooy added: "Robinho is training and playing like always. All the players are here to support him."
