Real Madrid target Ribery house-hunting in Madrid

Bayern Munich have warned Real Madrid they must break the world transfer record to sign Franck Ribery.

Asked about reports that Ribery's wife is house-hunting in Madrid, Bayern chief Uli Hoeness said: "He can buy a house wherever he wants, but he knows we will make it very difficult for him to leave."

"I will only listen to offers of £35-45 million. I won't pick up the phone for anything less."

Meanwhile, Ribery said yesterday he was aware of comments from Zinedine about Real signing him ahead of Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

"Of course," smiled Ribery, "but nothing can be decided until after June 1 when the season is over."
