Real Madrid target Joaquin ponders Barcelona option

Real Betis winger Joaquin has refused to commit his future to Real Madrid next season.

The Spanish international declared on Saturday that he expected to be sold, but last night refused to rule out moving to another club outside of favourites Real Madrid.

"I do not know," he told Marca. "Everybody says to me that where I must go is to Madrid. At this point, the truth is that if I must leave Betis, I do not know where I am going to go."

"Madrid is very nice. But I could also move outside of Spain. I just want to feel settled and happy."

Quizzed about reports that Johan Cruyff has recommended him to Barcelona, Joaquin replied: "If Cruyff says so ... well, he knows something about football. It is always nice and I thank him for recommending me."
