Real Madrid take up Cicinho option

Sao Paulo fullback Cicinho will be in Spain next week to complete his signing with Real Madrid.

Real have already paid 50 per cent of his transfer, £2.5 million, to secure his option and will pay the final £2.5 million installment once he puts pen to paper on his contract.

Cicinho has already agreed personal terms with Real over a five-year deal. The transfer will be rubberstamped once the Brazilian's representatives fax Real the player's necessary documents, including proof of his Italian passport.
