Real Madrid table mega contract to Roma's Cassano

Real Madrid have approached the representatives of AS Roma striker Antonio Cassano.

The Italy international is now inside the final two years of his Roma contract and is said to have passed teammate Francesco Totti on Real's shopping list.

Madrid radio reports yesterday stated that Real have tabled Cassano's agents a five-year contract worth a staggering £4 million-a-season - plus bonuses.

Roma director general Franco Baldini has stated that new contract talks with Cassano won't commence until around November.
