Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has been ruled out for two months with a thigh injury.

The Dutchman suffered the setback as he scored in Real's victory over Xerez on Sunday.

It's a heartbreaker for Van Nistelrooy as he had made a successful comeback from long-term knee injury. The striker is expected to miss the next 12 games for Real.
