Real Madrid striker Van Nistelrooy injured in scoring comeback goal

Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy suffered an injury, while also enjoying a scoring return in yesterday's thrashing of Xerez.

Van Nistelrooy struck the final goal of the 5-0 victory, but in the process suffered a thigh injury. He will have scans today to assess the extent of the setback.

The Dutchman is again playing after being nine months on the sidelines following knee surgery.
