Real Madrid striker Benzema: I take criticism seriously - from some people

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema admits he takes notice of criticism.

The Frenchman is again struggling for goals since the turn of the year.

He told Surface magazine: "I take criticism into account if it comes from someone that has played football at the top level, but if it comes from someone that hasn't played football then I don't take it seriously. All that matters is goals. As a striker, if you're a terrible player but you score, then nobody will criticise you."

He feels wanted at Madrid.

"I'm not an actor. I don't play to look good in front of the cameras. There are people that do that. I like to laugh in life, and I get on with everyone. There are those that say that the public doesn't like me, but when people see me in the street, whether they are old, young, women, children, they are always very friendly with me."
