Real Madrid strike terms with Getafe defender Alexis

Real Madrid have reached an in-principle agreement with Getafe defender Alexis.

AS says terms have been agreed which will see the young centre-half move to Madrid at the end of this season.

Real sports chief Pedja Mijatovic contacted Getafe president Angel Torres yesterday to inform him that an agreement with Alexis over personal terms had been struck and that they were prepared to pay the defender's buy-out clause - £6 million.

Only on Monday, Mijatovic dropped a big hint of a deal when telling local radio: "Alexis is an interesting player and we are following him closely ..."
