Real Madrid still to hand Roberto Carlos new contract

Real Madrid are still to contact Roberto Carlos about finalising his new contract.

Following an offer from Fenerbahce, Real sports chief Pedja Mijatovic assured the Brazilian they would draw up a new deal for him - but AS says nothing has yet been formalised.

Roberto Carlos' current deal is inside it's final 12 months and coach Fabio Capello is demanding Mijatovic hand him new terms, particularly with Marcelo now out for two months.

The veteran wing-back is wants his current deal extended to 2009.
