Real Madrid star Ronaldo can't wait to face Liverpool

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is counting down the days to facing Champions League opponents Liverpool.

The two clubs kicked off their Group B campaign with victories last night.

Ronaldo revealed his interest at returning to face Liverpool at Anfield after the draw was made.

"If I was going back to Old Trafford, the reception from the fans would be amazing for me," he said.

"Going to Liverpool will be very different – wow!"

"Of course I know that it's a very difficult place to go, although I won there a few times with United. They came very close last year to winning the Premier League so we know it's going to be a very tough game at Anfield."

"For me, knowing it's going to be the first time, I'm looking forward to it. I know Anfield. But we are Real Madrid."
