Real Madrid star Ozil proud to be named German Player of Year

Real Madrid ace Mesut Ozil is delighted with the recognition of Germany's fans.

Ozil was named the best German international of 2011 this week.

"I'm thrilled with this beautiful distinction," he said, "I want to thank supporters for their confidence."
