Real Madrid Sporting Director Miguel Pardeza Stresses Importance Of Upcoming Week

In commenting to AS, Real Madrid sporting director Miguel Pardeza spoke of what is a crucial time in the Spanish capital.

"We are coming upon a very important week and the reality is that [coach] Manuel Pellegrini will have to work with very few players. It is a week in which one would have had to take a lot of time refining things to improve, but it will not be able to be as such and we will have to make due with the players we have. Madrid always counts on a lot of international players and this is an inevitable circumstance."

With respect to the Liga race, Pardeza believes that "in any other year, Madrid would be "six or seven points ahead of the second-place team. But this year we have a rival that is playing very well, earning a lot of points, and evidently is not ceding points."

Pardeza ended by congratulating Gonzalo Higuain for his fantastic performances.
