Real Madrid signs up Ronaldo's personal trainer

Real Madrid will fly Ronaldo's personal trainer in from Brazil once a month to monitor the striker's fitness.

Nelson Petrone, who is regarded as a major influence in Ronaldo's comeback from three knee operations, has been hired by Real to monitor his good friend's progress.

Petrone said, "I spoke with Jorge Valdano and Emilio Butragueno last Monday. We've gone through what the doctors are planning for Ronaldo's recovery and also what it is I will be doing."

"I will travel to Madrid once a month. Ronaldo now is much happier. The last week in Milan was very sad for him."
