Real Madrid signing Modric: I've joined the greatest club in the world

Former Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric is thrilled with his move to Real Madrid.

Modric completed his drawnout transfer yesterday.

He declared: "Yes, I’m very happy to be able to be here in the best and the greatest club in the world, full of spectacular players, with the world’s best coach… I couldn’t ask for anything more. I’m very, very happy."

"I was waiting every minute for something to happen… finally it happened last night. When they let me know… I can’t explain how I felt. I’m so very happy to be here."

"It means a great deal to me because, as I’ve said, it’s a great club. Last season was excellent, and it’s probably going to be repeated this year; there’s also the Champions title.
