Real Madrid signing Baptista: I never wanted Arsenal, Barcelona

New Real Madrid signing Julio Baptista insists he never wanted to move to Arsenal.
 
The Gunners outbid Real for the Sevilla star, but Baptista was determined to remain in Spain. He told Marca: "I always identified myself with Madrid much more."

"I did not want to go to England because I am accustomed to life in Spain. I like how we live here, the World Cup is close and next year I will have a Spanish passport."

"There are many things that have made me decide on Real Madrid."

On Barcelona's interest, Baptista added: "At no moment did I see myself wearing the Barcelona shirt. Real Madrid was always my first choice."
