Real Madrid set to offload superstar this summer

According to Spanish media outlet, AS, Real Madrid will part ways with Gareth Bale this summer as club president Florentino Perez has finally run out of patience with the superstar.

Along with his side, Bale is currently enduring a subpar season. The Welsh forward has scored only 13 goals in all competitions in 2018/19 with another season hampered due to injuries.

Since his arrival in 2013, the 29-year-old forward has only played in 58% of possible games for Real Madrid, bagging 101 goals.

He has remained prone to injuries and inconsistent, which is why he is down the pecking order in Santiago Solari's side, below even the likes of Lucas Vasquez and 18-year-old newcomer, Vinicius Junior.

After the departure of the club's greatest goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo, Perez had hoped that Bale would lead the Los Blancos attack but that has clearly not been the case this season.

A negative attitude on the pitch and a poor gesture in the Madrid derby has culminated in Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez finally losing patience with the Welshman who could be offloaded in the summer.

According to the report, Madrid wanted to sell Bale to Manchester United back in the summer of 2017 but the player's reluctance to move back to England halted that move. Moreover, former coach Zinedine Zidane advised the club to sell the Welshman before his departure but Madrid did not heed the advice.

Only a miracle will stop Real Madrid from offloading the Welshman this summer, with Florentino Perez willing to accept offers exceeding €100 million. A number of clubs are interested in Bale's services and he is unlikely to remain in Spain come the summer.
