Real Madrid scout Roma wing-back Mancini

Real Madrid general manager Arrigo Sacchi is scouting AS Roma wing-back Mancini.

The Brazilian is being considered by Sacchi as a possible backup for first-choice right-back Michel Salgado next season.

Real coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo rates Mancini highly and discussed the Brazilian with Sacchi before he made a scouting trip to Italy last week to watch Roma play Bologna.

Mancini was the subject of an inquiry from Barcelona last year before he signed a new deal with Roma and remains highly regarded in Spain.
