Real Madrid's Zidane: No France return

Real Madrid midfielder Zinedine Zidane has denied reports he is considering an international comeback with France.

"I stated I stopped with the French team, and when I made a decision it is settled," fumed an angry Zidane.

"I saw on television there was a possibility I could come back. It is not good, it is a shame. Because everyone now questions everything, it seems to contradict what I said before. I remain on my position."

"Anyway I tell you, the French team will qualify! But above all I don't want people to believe I could be the team's saviour. That behaviour is pretentious and I have never been pretentious."

"I still have desire for France. But between desire and a comeback for good there is huge gap."

"It is difficult to go back on such a decision, it is hard, you know. My problem is I can't do anything. People can't put everything on my shoulders."
