Real Madrid's Woodgate impressing at training

Real Madrid defender Jonathan Woodgate says he will be fully prepared for the start of preseason training.
 
On Friday, while his teammates prepared for Saturday's win over Real Zaragoza, Woodgate stole the show as journalists were bowled over by the England international's intensity in training.

"I hope to be ready for preseason," Woodgate told the media pack on Friday. While the rest of his teammates are heading off for a summer break, the defender will remain in Spain to continue his rehab from knee and thigh surgery earlier this season.

From Monday through to Friday Woodgate will be training right up to the end of June. He will then be allowed a week's break before returning to Madrid on July 8 for the senior squad's preseason program.
