Real Madrid's Woodgate: I've gambling under control

Real Madrid defender Jonathan Woodgate insists he has his gambling under control.
 
Woody, 26 has reportedly spent around £2million in two years at the bookies - even though he won enough back to reduce losses to around £150,000.

The Real Madrid and England star, who is paid £70,000 a week, says he just likes horse-racing.

Woodgate said: "It has never been a problem. There's nothing wrong with a gamble, I had a little flutter but I didn't lose that much."

"I don't know the exact figures because I haven't checked my account."

Woodgate laid most of his bets while sidelined for 18 months fighting a thigh injury.

He added: "You get your fingers burnt. But I have not been losing ridiculous amounts."
