Real Madrid's Schuster plans threatened by Barcelona

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon may face competition from Barcelona for Getafe coach Bernd Schuster at the end of this season.

Schuster is Calderon's No1 choice to replace Fabio Capello in the summer, but Barca management are also keen on the German should Frank Rikjaard choose to leave the Nou Camp.

A target for AC Milan, Rijkaard is still to indicate his plans for next season and no-one on Barca's board knows whether the Dutchman will stick or twist.

Schuster has been pencilled in as a replacement by Barca management, with advisor Johan Cruyff a confirmed admirer of the former Real and Barca midfield star.
