Real Madrid's Salgado flattered by Man Utd interest

Real Madrid fullback Michel Salgado has admitted he is flattered by the interest of Manchester United.

The Premiership champs are willing to offer the Spanish international a contract worth £2 million-a-year to quit Real on a Bosman in the summer.

Salgado told AS yesterday: "Clearly there is a lot of pressure because my contract ends this season."

"I am very happy with the interest of Manchester United, but my first choice is to stay with Real Madrid."

"I have said it many times before: I am happy here and want to extend my contract."
