Real Madrid's Salgado, Cambiasso to be offered to Roma for Emerson

Real Madrid sports chief Jorge Valdano is stepping up his bid to prise midfielder Emerson away from AS Roma.

Valdano is convinced he can persuade Roma president Franco Sensi into allowing the Brazilian ace to leave by offering either fullback Michel Salgado or midfielder Esteban Cambiasso in part-exchange.

Real have been tracking Emerson for over two years and were beaten by Roma when they tried to sign the midfielder while he was still with Bayer Leverkusen in 2000.
