Real Madrid's Salgado: Boos Are Better Than Being Called Wimp

Barcelona supporters will give Real Madrid their usual welcome to Camp Nou and Salgado does not mind the banter and boos as long, as nobody calls him a wimp - Cules, you have been warned.

Michel Salgado does not mind being booed by Barcelona's fans just as long as they do not question his toughness and commitment to the cause as he prepares to stop Lionel Messi in el Clásico.

The veteran defender looked ahead to the trip to Camp Nou and knows that Los Merengues will receive a hot reception and he is prepared for almost anything.

But the one thing that Salgado cannot abide is anyone that doubts his bravery and determination and he is out to prove how hard he is by marking Messi out of the game.

"I would rather be booed and jeered than be called a wimp," Marca quote him as saying. "I know that it will be a very difficult job to stop Messi, but we are going to do everything we can."

Raúl is also looking forward to the game against Barcelona after Madrid's morale-boosting victory over Zenit St. Petersburg in Juande Ramos' first game i charge on Wednesday.

"It was an important win to regain some confidence, Juande has tried to put his ideas across and things went well for us," he said.

"Now we head to Camp Nou looking to win all three points because this result has given us a lift."

"We always want to try and keep a clean sheet and we have had some good results at Barça in recent years, so we will try and use what we have to stop them."
