Real Madrid's Reyes: I couldn't stay day longer at Arsenal

Real Madrid can sign on-loan Arsenal striker Jose Reyes permanently for £16 million.
 
That's the price agreed after marathon talks yesterday which also saw Julio Baptista move to the Gunners on a similar loan arrangement.

Reyes signed forms with Real at 10:30pm last night and immediately declared: "I have spent a very difficult summer, but I am glad everything has been solved."

"Madrid was the best option for me and I hope to play very well so that I can have many years more there."

"Right now I am the happiest man in the world."

"My stay in England could not be prolonged a day more. Things only took shape in the last hours, but the important thing is that it is all settled and out of the way."
