Real Madrid's Portillo excited by Fiorentina move

Real Madrid striker Javier Portillo is delighted to be joining Fiorentina on-loan.

The Spanish U21 international is moving to Fiorentina on a season-long deal and told Marca, "I spoke with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and he told me there was no way they would include a purchase option in the deal."

"I'm happy with that. I want to return to Real Madrid, but I need to play now."

"I am very happy that Fiorentina has gambled on me, and I would say tremendously hard. The trainer trusts me totally, and the president has taken a jet today to try to close the signing, and it is already done."

He added, "Olympiakos, Lazio and Porto all wanted me. But I chose Fiorentina because they are very good people and because they cared about me."
