Real Madrid's Pepe Will Renew Contract And Triple Salary

As reported by Marca this Friday, Real Madrid central defender Pepe, who suffered a season ending knee injury last weekend at Valencia has been boosted by a second piece of good news in consecutive days.

According to Marca, the successful surgery on his anterior cruicate ligament injury has been followed by a meeting between his agent, Jorge Mendes, and club director, Jorge Valdano, with the aim of renewing the player's contract.

Under the terms of the deal, the central defender, who is one of the lowest paid players in the Madrid squad, will reportedly earn €5 million net salary per season, tripling his current yearly wage. Officials at Real Madrid consider Pepe to be a fundamental piece of the team and would prefer not to wait as they look to tie the player to the Santiago Bernabeu for some years to come.

Pepe will reportedly renew his contract with Los Blancos until 2015.
