Real Madrid's Owen sweating on Liverpool return

Real Madrid striker Michael Owen's hopes to returning to Liverpool this season will depend on the persuasive powers of Reds chief executive Rick Parry.
 
Owen has instructed his agents to sound out Liverpool about a move back to Merseyside, but sources have told AS that manager Rafa Benitez isn't interested in the England striker.

Real Madrid are ready to do business, but Owen must wait to see if Parry and his fellow directors can convince Benitez to take Owen back. The former Reds favourite is desperate for regular first team action, which he knows will be lessened at Real once Robinho arrives from Brazil's Santos.
