Michael Owen is the hottest striker in Spain.

The Real Madrid ace's record of five goals in 499 minutes is the best in the Primera Liga and has the local press hailing him as the top striker in the country - ahead of even Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o.

Owen is expected to be restored to the starting XI for Saturday's clash with Villarreal after his goal in the 5-0 win over Levante on Sunday.

The England international said: "I must continue showing the right attitude so I can return to the starting XI. I am not nervous, as I know I have been playing well off the bench and scoring goals."

"I respect the coach and the decisions he makes. I must only make sure I am ready for when he calls me."
