Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes is likely to miss next week's Champions League semifinal first leg against Bayern Munich after suffering a recurrence of a persistent groin injury in training on Thursday.

Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes is likely to miss next week's Champions League semifinal first leg against Bayern Munich after suffering a recurrence of a persistent groin injury in training on Thursday. "Morientes was unable to finish the session after he felt a sharp pain," the club said on its official web page.
"He will not be able to play in this weekend's league match against Osasuna and there are serious doubts over whether or not he will be able to play against Bayern."
Morientes, who has spent much of this season trying to shake off injury problems, has scored four goals in the Champions League and six in the league.
