Real Madrid's Meija dismisses Wolfsburg interest

Real Madrid defender Alvaro Meija says he wants to stay with the club beyond the January transfer window.

Wolfsburg and Real Betis are among clubs to have approached Real about a deal when the winter market opens.

But Meija said yesterday: "I do not consider anything and I do not know if offers exist or not. I am a player of Real Madrid until 2009."

"My first option is to stay. I worked all my life wishing to play with the first team and what I am not going to do now is leave."

"But it is a decision that the club must make."
