Real Madrid's Luxemburgo praises Santos midfielder Elano

Real Madrid coach Wanderlei Luxemburgo has declared his interest in Santos midfielder Elano Blumer.

The Brazil international was being tracked by Atletico Madrid sports chief Toni Munoz in November, but his lack of an EU passport forced the deal to be shelved.

The 23 year-old is currently in the process of gaining an Italian passport and Luxemburgo said: "He knows how to play in many positions and that makes him a versatile and modern footballer."
