Real Madrid's Iker Casillas: We're Disappointed With Deportivo Draw But We Must Keep Fighting

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas said he was 'sad' after his team could only leave Deportivo La Coruna with a 0-0 draw despite dominating proceedings for large periods.

Falling further behind Barcelona as the race for La Liga hots up, San Iker still believes that his team can rein the champions in and claim the league title.

Speaking to AS, he said, "It's a step back because two weeks ago, we took the opportunity [to close the gap]. Today though, we have tried, we created chances but the ball did not want to go in."

He realises his team have a mountain to climb but would rather concentrate on Los Blancos than dwelling on runaway leaders Barca.

"We cannot keep looking at what Barceolona are doing but we must keep fighting ourselves. Now we must add three points at a time. Everyone connected with the club have a sad heart at this time but much hope remains and Madrid have soared many times,'' he added bullishly.

However, when asked about the performance of under-fire referee Fernandez Borbalan, he chose not to comment on the match official. "We can not say anything to the referee, and pretty much have to accept the decisions made.''

Real Madrid now trail Barcelona by an ever increasing gap of seven points. Los Blancos face Malaga at home on Thursday, 24 hours after Barca travel to Valencia.
