Real Madrid's Helguera in Barcelona admission

Real Madrid defender Ivan Helguera admits the arrival of Sergio Ramos from Sevilla could affect his own contract talks.

Helguera is inside the final year of his current deal and doesn't expect to hear from the club about a new contract offer until November.

He said: "The signing of Sergio Ramos can influence my re-signing."

"I don't want to leave Real Madrid, but if I must I will give my best to my new team."

"If I cannot play here, I would like to play for another Spanish team. Even if it is Barcelona, though I understand that could be difficult."
