Real Madrid's Guti seething after Calderon comments

Real Madrid midfielder Guti was seething after learning of the barbs fired by president Ramon Calderon yesterday.

Calderon, in a controversial speech to university students, said of Guti: "He began at the same time as Raul and now, at 31, he is still someone with promise, while Raul has played 12 seasons at the very top."

Guti attended yesterday's players' lunch and upon learning of Calderon's comments - relayed to all the players by captain Raul - stormed out of the restaurant while the rest of the senior group discussed their next move.
