Real Madrid's Guti must step aside for Beckham

Real Madrid midfielder Jose Maria Guti accepts he will have to stand aside once David Beckham returns from injury.

"Beckham must return surely and he will be the one that plays," said the Spanish international.

"That implies that somebody must leave the team, but I do not consider the things in the long-term future, but day to day. And what I want is to continue having minutes."

"I am in an uncomfortable position, because I had never played in midfield. I must be behind the ball and am always the first defensive player within the offensive ones. It is a difficult position, but I have a great desire to have minutes."
