Real Madrid's Guti: I feel useful again

Real Madrid midfielder Guti admits he feels "valued" by coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo after fighting his way into the Brazilian's starting line-up.
 
Guti appeared to be on his way out of Real over the summer after failing to convince Luxemburgo last season of his first team credentials. But the Spain international has seen off Thomas Gravesen, Zinedine Zidane and Robinho to play from the start this term and admits: "I have been able to have a good preseason and that has helped me."

"Also, not playing for Spain has given me more time to recover and has helped my strength and overall fitness."

"The season is long and Luxemburgo will need all his players if we are to win titles. But if you're asking me if I am happy that I am now playing regularly, I can tell you that I do feel valued and useful."
