Real Madrid's Figo discusses Man Utd, Chelsea contact

Manchester United and Chelsea have made contact with the representatives of Real Madrid ace Luis Figo.

Both Premiership clubs are keen to bring the Portuguese star to England for the start of next season, says Marca.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich sees Figo as a the galactico needed to transform his team into genuine title and Champions League contenders.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants Figo as a replacement for David Beckham and to work closely with young Portuguese speakers Kleberson and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Figo has already informed Real president Florentino Perez of the interest of United and Chelsea, but has been told his presence - for this season at least - is vital for the club.
