Real Madrid's Esteban Granero: We Have Confidence In Sevilla Against Barcelona

Speaking in a post-training press conference today, Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero relayed his team's confidence that Sevilla will force Barcelona to drop points at the Sanchez Pizjuan and allow Los Blancos to take the advantage in the race for the Liga title.

In comments reported by AS, Granero affirmed that the Madrid squad are intent on correcting the errors committed against Mallorca and expressed that the squad had "confidence that Sevilla will do well against Barcelona", emphasising that "our match is the important one because if we don't win against Athletic Bilbao, it will all count for nothing".

The Madrid youth product believes Saturday's match between Sevilla and Barca will be decisive in the Liga race.

El Pirata also took the time to heap praise onto Portuguese superstar and team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, about who he said: "He's a natural leader and an incredible footballer. He knows how to see the holes in a team and then sets out to exploit them."

In terms of the Liga race, Granero cannot believe that, with so many points, Madrid remain in second place and acknowledged: "There is a team that is doing things better than us because they have one point more. But if we win our two matches, we have the possiblity of winning the title."

On a personal level, Granero declared he was "satisfied" with his first season in a white shirt. "I came from a smaller club [Getafe] and the first year is difficult. I have still had the opportunity to play a lot of matches here and that means I can't have done things that badly. Still, I feel I can do better and look forward to improving."
