Real Madrid's Emerson: Why do they boo me?

Real Madrid midfielder Emerson admits the boo-boys at the Santiago Bernabeu are affecting him.

The Brazilian played in last night's 1-1 draw at Atletico Madrid after last week being booed by home fans during their Champions League victory over Bayern Munich.

At the final whistle last night, Emerson denied reports that he refused to take the field against Bayern: "I have never refused to play. It was a surprise to see that in the press."

"I do not understand why they boo me because I always think about the team and few players do that."

"I think I will see out the two years of my contract here."

"Here in Spain they do not understand my soccer. To play today has been important for me."
