Real Madrid's Diogo wants Zaragoza move

Real Zaragoza are set to close the signing of Real Madrid fullback Carlos Diogo, despite late interest from Olympique Lyon.

Madrid chiefs were keen to use Diogo as makeweight in their offer for Lyon midfielder Mahamadou Diarra, but Diogo's agent, Paco Casal, won't consider any move to France.

A source close to Casal told AS: "They (Real Madrid) can't use him like a piece of merchandise. He will go where he wants to go."

"The agreement between the player and Zaragoza is almost 90 per cent done."
