Real Madrid's Diarra to miss Bayern clash

Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra will miss the club's Champions League home match against German side Bayern Munich on Tuesday due to a right ankle injury, the club has said.

"He will not be ready for Bayern," Real said on their internet site.

The 25-year-old Mali international sprained the joint during Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Real Sociedad on February 10.

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos meanwhile is highly doubtful to face the German side after he bruised his right foot on Saturday during the club's goalless draw against Real Betis.

The 20-year-old left the pitch in the 78th minute and he did not train on Sunday or Monday.

If the Spanish international defender does not win his race to be fit his place at right back is likely to be taken by Michel Salagdo.

There was better news for Real fans about fellow defenders Roberto Carlos and Fabio Cannavaro who have both been included in Capello's 20-man squad.

"They both traiend well, neither has any pain, they are in the squad," said Capello.

World Player of the Year Cannavaro had been suffering from back spasms in the wake of the Betis match while Roberto Carlos has been out for five weeks with a hamstring strain.
