Real Madrid's Cassano push gathers pace

Real Madrid's push to sign Roma striker Antonio Cassano is gathering pace.
 
The Spanish giants have agreed to pay £4 million for the Italy international and have been given a clear path after Inter Milan patron Massimo Moratti admitted yesterday they would not be bidding for the player.

Cassano has told close friends that while he's disappointed Inter were unwilling to move for him, he's delighted with the prospect of joining Real Madrid.

In recent weeks Cassano has fallen out with Roma management over his refusal to sign a new contract and also captain Francesco Totti after a training ground bust-up.
