Real Madrid's Cassano: I was overweight on arrival

Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano accepts he arrived at the club overweight.
 
The Italian has made an impressive early impact since his signing from Roma last month - despite joining the club out of condition.

"I'm feeling better," said Cassano. "I feel in great shape after arriving in Madrid overweight due the time I was off at Roma in December."

"I feel very moved by the affection that I have received (from the fans). I am very happy in that sense and I only think about giving back that confidence to them with goals and my best game."

"I hope to reach my best level soon."
