Real Madrid's Campo seeks £35,000-a-week Bolton deal

Ivan Campo has indicated that he wants a new contract at Bolton Wanderers.

The Spanish international has been told by Real Madrid that he will be released at the end of the Spanish season.

Campo says he wants a contract worth £35,000-a-week and has admitted his preference is to stay with Bolton.

Trotters boss Sam Allardyce said, "Ivan hadn't played any competitive football at Real for more than 12 months when he came here and it took time to get to Premiership fitness."

"But later in the season he was absolutely outstanding. He has been responsible for starting most of our forward movement from deep positions."

Allardyce is also keen on Valencia striker Salva Ballesta, who is a close pal of Campo's.
