Real Madrid's Butragueno: Sacchi exit nothing to do with Luxemburgo

Real Madrid vice-president Emilio Butragueno says general manager Arrigo Sacchi's departure has nothing to do with this week's sacking of Vanderlei Luxemburgo.

"He told us a month ago. To lose a man of his quality is bad news. I am not having much luck this week because every announcement I've made has been unpleasant," said Butragueno.

"He (Sacchi) will explain his reasons. The personal decisions, it is important to understand them. It pains me, because he is an extraordinary man in all senses. In the professional he is a figure of world-wide football in the last 30 years. It does not please me that he leaves."
